The Paris Motor Show in October 2014 was the first sign that Toyota was ready to launch a completely new type of car in the C-segment: the world discovered the "Toyota C-HR Concept". A little over two years later, the concept became a reality. History of European development
ED² is where The Toyota C-HR was born, Toyota's European design development headquarters in the south of France. The new front end of the Toyota C-HR will also appear on the ED². The challenge for ED² was clear, if ambitious: to go beyond what had already been achieved.

Still rebellious...with a bigger twist
A look at the front end of the Toyota C-HR shows that the car has stayed true to its original genes. However, something has definitely been added for the next generation.
Still bold and perhaps still polarizing, the Toyota C-HR's front shows a more subtle expression of boldness. The presentation of the Toyota C-HR is equally provocative and entertaining. Larger wheels with short spokes improve the situation in all respects. Since the front part of the Toyota C-HR enhances its sporty feel, it also increases the spaciousness of the practical cabin.
Fine and organic finishes
The Toyota C-HR Prologue eschews rigid lines to convey a movement that gently transitions from sharp to fluid. A subtle organic design language, developed from two seemingly opposite values, allows the reconfiguration and flow of surfaces. This high dynamic range brings the contrast between softness and sharpness to an unprecedented level. At the same time, the distinctive lines have been slimmed down to emphasize sophistication. With surfaces that articulate organic movement and extreme precision, the front end of the Toyota C-HR is extremely modern with an approachable human touch.
A face to remember
The face of HAMMERHEAD is part of a 3D structure of interlocking shapes and a distinctive traffic light. The openings in the radiator grille are narrower, while the headlights have been reduced to emphasize the high-tech identity. The front view of the Toyota C-HR is sharp and piercing like a shark, ready to leap forward. The same interlocking motif continues in the diamond-cut, pivoting and cross bodywork, creating two interlocking shapes that emphasize the car's presence.
Before there were two tones. and now...
The front end of the Toyota C-HR is available in a third sulfur color on metallic silver and recycled carbon black. From the beginning, it was designed to stand out with its tricolor. And stand out.
Extended performance range with efficient double hybrid DNA connector
The Toyota C-HR Prologue also demonstrates Toyota's commitment to carbon neutrality by providing a wider electrified offering for Europe's largest and most competitive market segment: the C-SUV. The new Toyota C-HR plug-in with Euro-mounted batteries as well as the hybrid version will further expand Toyota's multi-technology offer.
