Audi R8 GT RWD: final version with 620 hp limited to 333 units!
A total of 26 examples were reserved for France with a starting price of €245,000.
The Audi R8 is currently on its way, but Audi Sport first had to launch a special series to say goodbye as well as possible. The manufacturer introduces the Audi R8 Coupé V10 GT RWD, which unfortunately heralds the atmospheric end of the ten-cylinder.
The Audi R8 GT is mainly based on the rear-wheel drive version, which is called RWD, but its performance has been revised higher with no less than 620 hp and 565 Nm of torque, and it is sent to the rear wheels via a new dual-clutch gearbox. 7 gears promise faster shifting thanks to the "adjusted gear ratio".
The sports car from Ingolstadt is also capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and reaching 200 km / h in 10.1 seconds. the maximum speed it can reach is 320 km/h. Limited to just 333 examples worldwide, including 26 for France, the Audi R8 GT still sells in France at €245,000, €84,750 more than the 570-hp Audi R8 RWD.
At this price, the Audi R8 GT is entitled to some new features, including Torque Rear mode, which lets you control the drift thanks to the ASR traction control system. Seven curves providing different levels of assistance have been recorded. Level 1 allows for lower skiing, while the higher level, Level 7, allows for much higher skiing. This mode takes into account information provided by the wheel speed, steering wheel angle, throttle position and gear engaged sensors.
The Audi Sport designers also made the final version of the Audi R8 around 20 kg lighter compared to the Audi R8 RWD thanks to the exclusive 20-inch 10-spoke wheels and the ceramic brake system. It also equipped the GT with reclining seats and a high-performance sports chassis with carbon fiber reinforced plastic or CFRP stabilizer. Optionally, the Audi R8 GT can get a coilover suspension that allows "individual tuning of the plate position and the levels of compression and rebound".
The limited edition Audi R8 gets some exclusive touches such as the "R8 GT" lettering in black as well as an aerodynamic instrument cluster in glossy black carbon. It consists of a front bumper with splitters, front fender, front deflectors, window sill guards and side scoops on either side of the rear bumper, as well as a rear diffuser and spoiler. Audi Sport guarantees a significant improvement in the vehicle's stability and thus guarantees a higher cornering speed.
The French versions of the Audi R8 GT also benefit from mirror caps, side panels and the hood in high-gloss carbon black. It can be equipped as standard in the colors Metallic Tango Red and Metallic Daytona Gray. If preferred, customers can choose a matte gray Suzuka. Inside, the Audi R8 GT has red seatbelts, as well as black-and-red lettering on the carpet and seats. Finally, the Audi R8 GT numbering is located in the center of the gear selector.
