Land Rover launches the new, third generation Range Rover Sport.  Described as "the most desirable, advanced and technologically capable", this generation is available with Ingenium petrol and diesel engines.  A 100% electric version is already on the agenda, but it won't hit the market until 2024.

   Varied and varied engines

The range starts with 250hp, 300hp and 350hp diesel engines.  As for petrol, the Range Rover Sport can count on a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 360hp or 400hp.  The plug-in hybrid versions are equipped with a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine.  They develop 440 and 510 hp (105 kW electric motor and 38.2 kWh battery) and can travel about 90 km in pure electric mode.  At the top, the Range Rover Sport can be equipped with a 530-horsepower twin-turbo V8.  The SVR version would soon dethrone him with even greater force.

   Simple aesthetic development?

Aesthetically, the new Range Rover Sport seamlessly evolves from its predecessor.  However, its shape does not change, the designers have made some changes both front and back.  Range Rover Sport's headlights are thinner and the front fascia has been completely redesigned.  At the rear, the inlay of lights above the black stripe with the Range Rover logo gives the impression that it contains only one visual unit.

In contrast to the front, the rear bumper changes slightly.  The number plate has been moved down and the air extractor has a more rounded appearance.  There are still two exhaust nozzles on each end, and they're also a bit thinner and more compact.  Finally, you'll notice that the car's profile is much smoother.  Door handles are now flush and more muscular.

The Range Rover Sport is 4.95 meters long, 1.82 meters high and 2 meters wide (mirrors down).  It has a wheelbase of 3 meters, and finally, its cargo volume in the trunk is 647 liters.

Best on all levels

Inside, the new Range Rover Sport is seriously evolving.  Almost everything has been redesigned, starting with the steering wheel, the center console, the dashboard and the 13.7" digital instrument panel. The 13.1" central screen seems to "pose" on the dashboard on board.  Further down, the designers placed the climate control buttons, as well as a rather chic shift lever.

This interior is particularly refined and the materials appear to be of very high quality.  The Pivi Pro infotainment system is based on the EVA 2.0 architecture, which supports the SOTA system, or Software Over The Air, which makes it possible to receive updates remotely.

Using the MLA Flex platform, Land Rover promises its Range Rover Sport delivers "the most engaging and dynamic driving experience ever".  Among other things, this model is equipped with the Dynamic Response Pro system, which enables active roll control thanks to a 48-volt electronic system.  It can also "reach up to 1,400 Nm of torque per axle".

It also features four-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering and an air suspension that has switchable volume air springs for the first time.  The pressure inside the airbags can therefore be varied for optimal comfort and handling.  This generation will also get an off-road adaptive cruise control that will help the driver to go through difficult terrain.

The new Range Rover Sport will be produced exclusively at the Solihull plant in the UK alongside the Range Rover.  It is now available to order.
